Leveraged Cryptocurrency ETF List

What Are Leveraged Crypto ETFs?

Leveraged crypto ETFs aim to multiply the daily move of a cryptocurrency, usually by 2x or 3x. Most hold futures contracts or track a crypto index rather than the coins themselves, so the exposure sits inside an ordinary brokerage account.

You get exposure to Bitcoin, Ethereum, and a handful of other coins without holding any digital assets yourself. The leverage works in both directions, though. A 3x fund magnifies a drop as hard as a gain, so the risk and the daily swings run much larger than holding the coin outright.

Key Features & Risks

  • 24/7 markets: Crypto trades around the clock, but these ETFs only trade during market hours, so prices can gap overnight.
  • High volatility: Crypto already moves more than most traditional assets, and leverage stacks on top of that.
  • Futures-based: Most of these funds hold futures contracts, not the coins themselves.
  • Regulation: Rule changes can affect which of these funds are available, and when.
  • Contango: Rolling futures forward can make a fund drift from the spot price over time.
